I would try to contact some auction firm. Pornographic material is certainly something not new and possibly some auction firm can quote a price fork to be realized, examining quality, rarity, conservation state etc. Not fast bucks (it might take some time, catalogues have to be published etc.) but possibly the highest revenue for the seller.
The buyer can be an archive, a library, a publisher, a rich person wanting to expand his personal porn collection, etc.
I think that would equally apply to the atomic bomb experiments, though those have a more definite historical values and might also be directly marketed at publishers.

So long as the models were over the age of 18 at the time the photos were taken, regardless of how long ago they were taken, they're legal.
The only other question is whether the photos depict anything that is patently illegal. (They don't show anybody getting killed or raped or anything like that.) However, they (the photographer & the models) could just claim that the photos were set-ups made to LOOK like a rape.
Look at what Irving Klaw did with Betty Paige. Some of those pictures are pretty extreme. For the time they were taken, they might be considered "Out there where the busses don't stop!" But for the existence of any anti-pornography laws at the time, those pictures are all legal, nowadays.

I doubt very much if this is the case either in the USA or Britain.
You can't make a law that criminalizes something then go back and prosecute people who committed that act before the law was passed.
Neither can you legalize something, make it illegal again then go back and prosecute people who committed the act in the past, even if the act was illegal in the past.
Well, it is now illegal to produce or possess pornographic photos of anybody who is under the age of 18 but photos of models who are 18 or older are okay. So, if it is legal to produce or to possess a photo today, you can't prosecute people for making an old photo even if it was illegal when it was made.
Therefore, if the model(s) are 18 or older, the photo is clear.
Nude photos of children are right out. Photos of patently illegal acts are out. By this, I mean photos of an actual rape, for instance. However, if the photos are staged, the people in the photo are just posing, the picture might be all right. It's a gray line. The photos could be looked at as inciting a criminal act. (rape) This is a tough call because of Freedom of Speech. It would take a judge or a court to determine whether they are over the line.
But I don't think we're getting into that area. Aren't we talking about your run-of-the-mill "nudie" pictures, here? Even if there are pictures of people "going at it" I see nothing that would prohibit selling them, provided the models are 18.
One of trouble that I can think of would be if one of the models came forward and claimed that he/she was raped in the course of taking the pictures. But, since the pictures are over 70 years old, this is not likely because the models are probably dead by now.
The only other thing I could think of would be selling or publishing the photos without a model release. But, again, the pictures are 70 years old.
I'm not an expert and I don't claim that my opinion is word but this is what I think and these are the reasons I think it's true.
