I have been driving myself CRAZY looking for a Kodak ASA Bayonet to PC Sync adapter. I have an old Kodak Synchro-Rapid 800 (which mostly works!) which I would love to use with my 2.25x3.25 Speed Graphic, but I can't reliably connect my modern flash (or any flash for that matter!) to the ASA sync post. I have tested with a jerry-rigged system of bare wires, so I know the flash sync works, I just need a way to hold those wires in place and connect them to my Sunpak Auto 544, which I believe uses a 2.5mm jack (though if I can get a PC adapter, I can use that too!). I have seen threads before that claim this type of adapter is commonly available on eBay, but I have searched far and wide and found no such thing. Paramount cords could make it custom, but it would cost me about $80, which I'm not looking to spend. Does anybody have any advice?

Paramount has been out of business for years. Dont count on them. The website still exists but it’s not real offerings. When they were a going business they were great; a Godsend, in fact. But those days are long gone.

Keep a search criteria running on eBay and pay whatever it takes. They are not common.

Thank you for the advice! I'll keep that in mind, because I've browsed their available cables before. I have a couple searches saved on eBay, and I think I might have a couple hits even!

Look for Honeywell flash units on eBay.

They are wired with a replaceable tip.

The ASA adapter is green (Leica red and PC black).

Almost all I see today are PC, the ratio used to be higher.

They usually have a tiny pouch with spare tips.

This looks like what you want. You will need to do some soldering but you get a good length of wire to hack with.

This is the actual tip. Kind of pricey. You would need a Honeywell flash to get the wire. Those average nine bucks.

One approach is to buy a Kodak bulb flash to harvest the cord and ASA connector. That can be spliced to another donor cord with PC or household or whatever.

Or, the Kodak flash holder could be used as is, rather than a Graflite.

I’m looking for one too…

I’ve got a 2x3 Crown Graphic that has the bi-pin electric shaver sync contacts but my 4x5 Crown needs an ASA Kodak connector too.

There is an auction for one of those. Looks pretty decent. Probably worth it at this point.

Forgot about the Kodak flashbulb units. Those are about twenty bucks and have a black plastic ASA connector.

Hey all! I was able to find a Honeywell ASA/PC -> Household adapter (same replaceable tip system mentioned by Mr. Burk!). I think I could use this to connect my Graflite (which is something else I was worried about) and I could jerry-rig/find an adapter for Household -> PC. Thank you all for your advice!
