Epson scan doesn’t show options to scan negatives. Epson V850, Mac Studio M4. Latest version of Epson Scan 2 installed. Has anybody Epson Scan working on the latest macos?
(I know there is Vuescan etc and I do camera scanning when I want real quality)

Verify that the transparency unit is correctly connected to the scanner body. If the plug is loose, the scanner may not detect the TPU and the software might not display any transparency scanning options.

Everything is connected as it should be. The problem seems to be that is not working in Tahoe, which is available since 8 months now.
I can't find any updates from Epson since that time. But someone here got it working somehow.

I've had an on-going issue with new Macbook running the latest version of Tahoe not even recognizing my old Epson flatbed scanner. Oddly, it has worked fine a couple of times, but mostly doesn't. Also, oddly it has no problem recognizing two old Minolta film scanners that I own. I'm using VueScan, but the issue with the Epson flatbed is hardware and/or OS related. The scanner doesn't show up under USB devices in "About this Mac."

Frank I found this. Hope it helps.

Thanks for those links. I ‘ll check it and come back here if it works.

No functionality issues for me, macOS 26 an a V700.

You do get warning messages though that the software will need to be updated to support the next versions of macOS.

Which processor in the Mac?
I’m using the latest updates of macos and epson scan 2.
Thinking about it, There was no problem on my macmini m2, but now I have a mac studio m4. That might be the problem.
Guess I have to use vuescan for 4x5. For 35mm and mf I already more or less switched to camerascanning.

M1 MacBook Air.

Not after you've updated to the latest drivers, as it suggests.

I did the updates and it still squawked - could be due to regional version lag, the AU/NZ versions are sometimes out of sync. Under the Rosetta Software (System Information) it's still showing a few Epson software items (Scanner Monitor, Event Manager, Updater and Updater Agent). Might also be an old version that's not been completely removed - I might look into that.

On a slightly different tack, I note that the open source NegPy (negative conversion) software now supports scanners through SANE, and the V700 is supported. I've not tried it yet, another thing to try one wet weekend.
