Can you show us a picture. I have many books and illustrations. I then can perhaps identify it.

In my opinion, this is an aplanat.

Serial number: No 17883.

Total height including thread: 94 mm, thread: 67 mm, tube diameter: 62 mm, weight: 395 gr.

IN 1865 Adolph Steinheil, having left his father's Optical business, produced 3 lenses a Periskop wide angle, a gauss type 4 element, and a 3 element so called
medallian lens. He would later produce a series called Aplanat. This what your lens appears to be. See attached image
It used waterhouse stops. These can be produced by SK Grimes in Rhode Island.
