Hi All,

This is our new web app you can access on your mobile devices and basically 1-click share images to our new dedicated "Photrio On the Go" thread.

The sharing thread and full details are here: https://www.photrio.com/forum/threads/photrio-on-the-go-mobile-photo-sharing.220539/

You'll notice I just made a test post. It would be great if some others want to post a test for us.

You'll find instructions there for accessing and using the app.

What are we hoping for?

A fun way to see what our members are up to in real time. Are you doing some darkroom work, out shooting in a cool spot, or just want to post some mobile snaps? Show us what you are up to!

Thanks,
Sean

I'm on Android 16 (Galaxy S26 Ultra) using Chrome, and I don't have the option to select an existing photo. (I can snap one using the camera, though).

If you refresh the webapp, you should now be presented with the choices of camera or existing gallery image. Thanks

well now I can choose a photo, but I can't take one 😁

Made a change, if you restart the webapp there should now be two buttons one for "Take Photo" and one for "Gallery", that new "Take Photo" button should work for most if not all android phones.

I'm assuming that this app will acccept photos at their native size rather than requireing (the very annoying) resizing restrictions of the online Photrio. Carrect (I hope)?

Yes, any photos will be prepped during the upload process and should not be denied based on size issues.

... now if you can have some software correct spelling errors.

This is cool @Sean . Nice little app and clear instructions. I love the extension of photrio on my mobile now. I can think of a few little follow on functionalities but I am sure you will surprise us with more.

D.

Thanks Derek,

AI has recently been a game changer for us regarding site maintenance, community management, tuning, fraud detection and development. We can only afford so much on a shoestring budget, but I can now take an idea for Photrio and make it real via AI tools, and only for a few dollars.

In some cases, behind the scenes I have been able to do $10,000's worth of work using only my own time + 20-25 dollars in AI coding costs. The recent Photrio On the Go project took me about 2-3 days of effort and about a dollar or so in AI coding costs. What is astonishing is how good it has gotten and it keeps getting better.

It really is a double edged sword though. For small biz owners it is tearing down barriers to entry and obliterating operating costs as well as helping the smaller fish being able to compete. On the flip side it is highly disruptive to those with careers impacted by these tools.

I could not afford a server security/performance guru
couldn't afford full time coders
couldn't afford people to monitor for fraud
couldn't afford a social media manager
etc etc... Now I can have these things and this is only scratching the surface, as if you can imagine it, then you can probably build it without needing to raise big funding.

I do have several more ideas for putting these tools to work, but am open to suggestions as well. Feel free to post them here or PM me.

A few things I have in mind:

-A more interactive and newsy home page
-Revamp of the social groups area
-Elegant portfolio system with print sales integration
-More fun with expanding 'shooting assignments' and such
-Integrating additional/optional forum views via tagging
-We also have a lot of old feature requests that should be easier to implement now

Sean
