I was given this XD5 which seems to be almost in mint condition, except for the presence of this odd spring in the gate and some lightmeter problems.
It works well in other ways, but:
-the lenses cannot click, and therefore do not stick in place when inserted in the mount;
-lightmeter doesn't seem to work perfectly well but in manual mode the shutter speeds are accurate;
-Mirror goes up and other shutter-related functions seem good;
-in auto mode, the exposure "down arrow" is red in the viewfinder even when it shouldn't be (pointing at a light source);
I was getting it for parts because I struggled to find the bottom plate screw, but I think I might use it - and just be careful that the lenses don't fall off.
However, would the part that makes the lens stick in place be easy to fix based on photos?
Does the spring need to be pushed back in place somehow (it seems attached on both ends but maybe that was some amateur repair work?)
