For Sale FS: Canon New FD 500mm f4.5L Lens

Canon New FD 500mm f4.5L lens with original Original Aluminum Case (Keys attached to handle), rear cap, original front lens cover, and hood, original drop in holder and filter. The original lens foot is included and has been replaced by the $122 4th Generation CRX-5 Arca Swiss Type Foot. The CRX-5 Foot is attached to the lens with original screws for the original foot. 4th Generation did not even know that these were the proper screws to install the foot on the lens. Additionally included is a Lens Coat front lens cover which has been used to substitute for original Canon lens cover which is included but is deteriorated and leaving debris on the hood and lens.

I would rate the lens in 9 condition. The lens does have some damage to the front coatings and a little cleaning marks that are visible in some of the images shown below. I have not noticed that this has any affect on lens performance. Otherwise the glass is clean an clear with no fungus or separation. There is some dust in the lens. Cosmetically the lens body does have some paint loss (some shown in photos). Mechanically works well and functions as it should. The lens is quite sharp as is shown in included images.

That’s a very good deal for a first rate lens, very late in the FD mount. If I didn’t already have the FD 600/4.5, I’d jump on it.

Long time no see. Yes, I believe that it is a good price and comes with the original luggage case along with the greatly improved 4th Generation CRX-5 Arca Swiss Type Foot which makes mounting and unmounting the lens from an Arca Swiss Type QR clamp quite convenient. It also aids dramatically in postioning and balancing the lens and camera.

I hope that I can find a home for the lens shortly.
