About 3 years ago when I lived in NYC I was shooting in Central Park with my RZ, about halfway though my shoot some college girl walks up to me and says "you look like you know about cameras, can you help me get my memory card out, it think it's stuck?" She then proceeded to take out her own RZ out her her bag! We spent the next few hours walking around the park taking photos, She had a 250 APO which at the time I didn't have so I got to use that a little. After she graduated and moved back to Poland she offered me her 250 APO which I happily bought from her. I guess it was her least used lens, but is now my most used lens so it worked out.

My wife and I are meeting her in Slovenia in May for about a week to do a photo walk of Ljubljana and the countryside before her and I head up to Austria.
 
Not an ITAH, but perhaps amusing. I was in our front yard, set up to shoot an innocent violet with my Pentax 645n, right angle finder mounted, using my 120mm macro, cable release, and a focusing rack mounted on my Manfrotto tripod. My next-door neighbor shouted out, "Mighty fancy camera, George! Is it a Nikon?" :laugh: I strolled over and tried to explain to her what it was, and why it wasn't a Nikon. I failed, I fear.

120 film is known as "Brownie" in Japan. "Brownie Camera" got shortened by one manufacturer to "Bronica"

McBroom's Bluebook suggests that along with another possibility: Zenzaburo-no nica ("Mr. Zenzaburo's camera").

"Zenzaburo's Brownie Camera" is what I read years ago - ties it all together.

I got asked ITAH when I was out with a Crown Graphic.
 
I was looking at the back of my iPhone 5s this afternoon. Tapped the screen and focused, dragged Mr. Pointer and adjusted the brightness. I looked up and somebody yerped “ zat a “”hasselblad” as she walked by and I said “yup!” and tapped the screen.

Closest to conversation I had with a woman was watching someone in a coffee shop try to load her OM1 for 5 minutes before I mustered up the courage to walk over and help her out... No invitations to a photo walk, though

In Canada you do need a PAL (Possession and Acquisition License) to buy a caplock, but not a flintlock. You'll also need it to buy blackpowder, but not Pyrodex, which is weird. I guess they don't get many bank robberies committed with a Brown Bess!

No license needed to buy a Hasselblad, though.

It's not even considered a firearm in the States. Then again, the whole licensing to own a firearm is weird in the context of American law. It would be almost as if you'd need a license to publish a paper or own a camera.

But I digress as we get off topic.
