I'm not interested in purchase, but can you do me a favor and measure the size of the opening in millimeters, and post a reply?

This is the standard Beseler #8312 which is 6x6cm. Thanks for looking. Ken

Thanks for the reply, but I know with certainty that the so-called 6x6 frame is really 56mm x 56mm, and that standard enlarger openings in the film holder are not full image size (56x56), so would truly appreciate if you could take a millimeter ruler to your 8312 as a favor. Thx.

The actual openings for all of the Beseler's holders for the 45 and 810 Series that I have had in the past are smaller than the format it is made for. I filed out the 4x5 holder I had so the entire negative could be seen. In the case of this holder the measured opening is 2 1/8" x 2 1/8" and is designed for the 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" format. I do not have a millimeter ruler.

Thx for giving me the 2-1/8" measurement...it beats what I knew before your response!

That converts to 54mm.

Interestingly enough, the 2 1/8" square openings are the measurements of one of the two flaps that hold the negative. The other flap is 2 1/4" square so if one wanted to file the smaller flap out to match the format size the template is already there.

Hello Olddog,
I already have a glass 4X5 holder. However, if you would sell for $35 I'll buy it.
I see that you are unloading a pile of stuff. I try to avoid acquiring more stuff myself but every time I get rid of one item something else pops up.

Hi guangong,
I can do $35 as long as you are in the lower 48 states for shipping purposes. Let me know.

Hahaha. I agree with you. I am forever trying to streamline my photography equipment! It is an ebb and flow proposition at best.

I am in New Jersey. In some ways you can not get any lower than NJ. Will Paypal do?

Robert: I received the payment. Thank you. I show the shipping address to be: Robert Ante P.O. Box 1145 Montague, NJ 07827

If this is incorrect please let me know. I will ship the holder by Tuesday at the latest and provide any shipping information. Thanks again. Ken

Robert-Montague is an area of NJ I love and spent much time growing up. We used to canoe the Delaware. Put in at Port Jervis and out at Dingman's Ferry. I used to go to Boy Scout camp at the Delaware Water Gap by Tock's Island.
