Graflex Wollensak 135mm f/4.7 Newbie Questions

I just purchased my first 4x5 camera from a fellow APUG member, and have a couple of newbie questions about the lens and shutter.

1. To open the lens for composing an image, it seems I first have to cock the shutter, and then actuate the lever to hold open the shutter blades. Does this sound correct? (Sorry for my ignorance on correct terminology.) Just want to make sure that I am doing this correctly.

2. There's another lever with markings for M, M (red text), F-X, and OFF. I assume these are flash sync options. Any ideas about what they mean?

3. The flash sync uses a bipost connector. How would one go about connecting this to a monolight? Obviously a little different from the other sync cables that I have used for 35mm and MF.

M - is indicating use of a Flash Bulb
F-X is electronic flash.

there might be a lever on your lens to flip and it opens the shutter
so you can focus, kind of like a DOF preview lever.

The Wollensak shutter has a lever to temporarily open the lens for composing. I never use it. I set the shutter to T and then cock and fire the shutter. Then I compose, and fire (don't cock) the shutter again to close it.

B is for "Bulb" -- cock, pressing the release opens the blades, while the release is held.
T is for "Time" -- cock, press the release to open the blades, press the release again to close the blades.
