Hi,

I have just relocated to Zurich and I'd like to find a reliable lab that develops films (B/W and color, both 35 and 120).
In previous threads, fellows APUGers recommended Studio 13. Is there any other place - or reliable, online service in Zurich. I only need development, no scanning.

Thanks
Luciano

Almost a year late, but I'm looking for labs in Switzerland, myself. I have no experience with these places, but through the internet and word of mouth, I've found ..

Ars-Imago: http://www.ars-imago.com/ in Zug, is dedicated to film. They do developing: B&W, C-41, E-6
Chromo Byte: http://www.chromobyte.ch/ in Basel
ifolor: http://www.ifolor.ch/en .. is Foto Kreuzlingen, which has been around since the 1960s I think

I asked the earlier this week, and apparently InterDiscount (http://www.interdiscount.ch/idshop/index.jsf) does developing. The girl behind the counter said so, and I saw a little drop-off desk. I have no idea how it (if?) works, but I will be checking.

I've heard MIGROS does, or did, developing, but I'm not sure about now. I'll need to check into that, too.

Migros & Coop both do developing as well, Coop & Interdiscount are actually part of the same chain. I have no idea what their quality is like and they only do bog standard 35mm deveopling as far as I know. If you shoot anything else then you will have to go elsewhere.

In case anyone cares, MIGROS DOES do film development - apparently both 135 and 120. It takes 10 days, and C-41 neg-only development is 3.90-CHf which is cheap. E-6 is 10-CHf, I think.

Don't expect high quality from Migros.

I warmly recommend FotoPro Bären at Löwenstrasse (www.fotobaeren.ch). They are doing a great job, and are very experienced.

I got my roll back from Migros yesterday - considering that it was 4 or 5 years expired, they did a good job. I wonder how their E-6 is ..

Actually you were right. I got a roll of C-41 done recently and they did a lousy job. The prints were nice, but I didn't ask for them - peculiarly only 13 our of 36 - and they don't even give you a plastic sleeve for your negatives. I'll be using someone else from now on.

Actually, if you are in Basel, pop over to Lörrach or Weil to Foto Stober. It is about 1/3 the price for D&P with CD for the scans. They also do E6 but I havent done 120 there. For my medium format, I post to the UK.
