Can anyone suggest a place in the U.S. for a Zorki 1 repair? I like mine a lot, the Industar lens on it is really good, but a while back it started giving uneven exposures on a lot of frames. Obviously a shutter issue.
He works on Leica copies, as well as the originals. He did a Leotax D-IV and a Nicca III for me, both made in the late 1940s. Also a Leica III, IIIa, IIIF, and M2.
I've heard shipping packages to Russia can be iffy. I don't mind sending a camera overseas, I've sent Kodak Retinas to Chris Sherlock in New Zealand. I'll contact him and Zacks.
I asked our local exLeica Midland person once if he could fix FSU. He told what he quit from fixing of them quickly.
I did two Zorki by myself. Those are very simple cameras. I used Jay Fedka web site with instructions. If curtains, ribbons are in tact, all yours needs is new lube inside of curtains rollers. No special tools, oil is required.
I also send to Russia and recieved it back from Oleg. Here is no problems to send and receive. Registered package should be in use. But it will take time. Weeks...
