I've been learning to repair Leica screw mount cameras for a while now and am looking for a couple or few really inexpensive Leica clone cameras to disassemble more completely than I've done so far on real Leicas. The original style Fed and Zorki cameras are reasonably accurate copies of the Leica II and would be great for this. I'm primarily interested in that style rather than the later USSR cameras.

Cameras don't need to be fully working, but shutter curtains in usable condition is a plus. Any lenses that are not trashed will make it easier to pass on any cameras that I get to work adequately. Of course, I'll consider anything as it gets closer to free.

Message with what you have (click or mouse over my name and choose "Start a Conversation"), or post here if you are too new to start conversations, and I'll message you when I see it.

Would you be interested in two Zorki 1s that are in pieces + an industar 22 for the cost of shipping?

Sure. That would be great. How far are they stripped? And are the shutter curtains decent?

Oops. I thought this was a private message I was replying too. I'll send one to you now aw614.

I'll get you pics, they are stripped completely and some might be missing pieces. I attempted to put new shutter curtains in, but I feel like I was over my head and I couldn't get the shutters tensioned correct. I also wasn't happy with how I my curtains and ribbons were cut. The rollers were marked, etc from following the guides, but I just gave up on it when I got a working zorki.

I'm still looking for an inexpensive Zorki or Fed 1 for learning the Leica screw mount type mechanism. Thanks to aw614 I have a couple of excellent Zorki parts cameras, but not quite complete enough to put one back together.

Let me know if you have something, working or not. A lens is always helpful as are usable shutter curtains since I'd like to strip and reassemble one to working condition before taking on curtain replacement. I've learned a tremendous amount already studying these two and sorting parts. A Zorki probably makes the most sense now, but either Fed or Zorki would be fine.
