Zone VI Type 1 Enlarger on eBay

There's a very nice Zone VI enlarger set-up being auctioned on eBay that
prints 35mm to 8x10 negs with both a VC Cold Light and Beseler Colorhead-the works! Looks like new. (Not my auction-just a news flash!)

The type I Zone VI enlargers were not held in high regard...I don't know what the reasons were...perhaps it is because repair parts aren't available any longer...but I do know that the latter enlargers were better.

I owned one. You don't want it. The lens stage is mounted on a single pole and is very unstable. Additionally, the stablizer is unreliable. If you are going to lust after something, lust after a Saunders or Omega.

Zone VI type I as has been mentioned is an old version that the newer Type II accessories dont fit and has issues.

I'd stay away from it.
