Hi all,
Can anyone give me input regarding the Zone VI 5x7 VC Type I enlarger. I will be printing 5x7 negs and have heard that the Type I is less desirable than Type II. Thanks for any advice...Evan Clarke

I had a Type I and It was very nice for printing negatives till 4x5", I changed it for a Type II when I began to print 5x7" negatives. Too much fall off on the sides. Type II is not really a 5x7" enlarger just an oversized 4x5".

It's the Type I that's the oversized 4x5. It's a bit of a mystery why Fred Picker started referring to it as a 5x7 enlarger.
