Ziploc development

I have read that some folks, who shoot x-ray film, develop the sheets in a ziploc to avoid scratches. I would like to do this but I am trying to figure out the logistics. I assume a 2 gallon bag but how do you get the chemicals in and the film in without uneven development? How about surge lines?

I do not have a glass bottomed tray nor a piece of glass available. Just looking for some pointers.

When I tray develop sheet film, it's 8x10 and I use 11x14 porcelain coated trays, two sheets at a time. No scratches. A ziploc sounds complicated messy etc. But with practice it might work pretty well. Little or no oxidation if you reuse the developer, too.

This is the first time I hear about zip-lock development.
What do you need the glass pane for?

Concerning inserting the film: my very first thought was to chose a bag longer than the sheet, fill the empty bag with the bath, let the bottom of the bag with the fluid hang over a sharp table edge so that there will be a sharp kink in the bag protecting the film at inserting from reaching the bath prematurely. Then after closing the bag swiftly turn over the bag.
My second thought was, that there will be droplets at the walls of the bag that will come in contact with the film prematurely.
My next thought was that one can fill the bag viac a clean hose.
My last thought: is that whole concept beneficial by any means??

X-ray film, at least most of it, has emulsion on both sides and is very prone to scratches. The glass plate or glass bottom tray helps avoid this.
