Twice. The biggest hold up will be FedEX. They always find new ways to slow things down. But he ships quickly and packs well. It can take awhile to communicate exactly what you want. Partly because of the language difference partly the time zones.

OTOH if you're just ordering a camera and you're in North America Badger might end up cheaper. The value when ordering direct from the factory is getting all the various extra bits at a better price.

(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

I think that covers most of what they sell.

If you can order through Badger I would recommend doing so, merely for convenience.

However, I think it is perfectly safe to deal directly with Shen-Hao. I ordered directly from them several years ago, without any problem, and I never heard of a major issue with Shen-Hao due to payment shipment issues.

I ordered direct. Very easy and quick. Only screw-up was he also wanted me to pay for his bank's fee for clearing foreign deposit - about $25 at his end as well as mine. I initally misunderstood this requirement. He shipped anyway and I sorted it out through a friend in Shanghai who did a local deposit for the $25. No regrets.

It's safe to order from shen-hao directly. They have been in business for a long time. You can trust them, plus not everybody in China is scam artist.

(its easer to post this than ask them due to language barrier).

Normally the Shen cameras come with a #0 lensboard. Last time he read my mind and figured out I didn't need any more #0 and sent me a #1.

Do you mean the roll film adapter they sell? It fits a standard graflok back. So should fit the HZX just fine.

Hello Nick - yes the 120 film roll adaptor - they sell a 6x12 one . sounds like a nice accessory to have withthe 4x5. as for lens board - are these adapted to other lenses? ie schnieder lenses ? i asume that is the case. good to hear they come with, i couldnt figure it from the order forms as they sell them seperately of course.

Modern lenses come in one of three shutters. #0,#1 or a #3. All the lens companies use these sizes. To mount a lens from any company you need a board with the right size hole.

Older lenses may come in different size shutters. If thats the case you just need a blank board [unbored] and you get it bored to the right size. Or you can some times just enlarge the hole. I've done that for some Seiko shutters.

Hi, Lalika, guess you are lucky, I have a shen-hao HZX45 IIA want to put on for sale list. It's in very good condition. I am asking for 450 dollars with a camera case, GG protector and viewing hood, one #0 wood lens board. If you interested, let me know. If the sale is made, 3% goes to APUG.

I have ordered directly, paid by wire transfer and was very happy. He wanted IIRC $25 for bank clearance and said he would refund it if not required. When the package arrived there was $25.00US in cash included. Honest, prompt and even FedEx was very fast as far as Edmonton, Alberta. The last 800 miles took a bit longer. I would order from him again, but of course Badger is convenient and reputable and of course there are now a number of used items for sale.

Cheers,
Clarence
