Thanks @macfred and @howardpan for framing, I ensure the tripod is level for each shot. Then vary the height of the tripod. It's not foolproof, but works for me!

The Zeroimage has nails that indicate field of view for each format, which I find helpful for knowing how much of the scene will be captured.
