Hello

i have tried to use the Zenza Bronica ETRSI - Zenzanon 75mm f2.8.

The machine currently has the bronica_etr_si_motor_winder-ei mounted and there is no battery in the body of the machine or in the winder.

The aperture preview works fine but I simply can't rotate them to replace them.

What i can do to understand where is the issue ?

can i try to put the battery in the winder and use it to see if change anything ?

can i try to remove the lens and try to change the diaphragm when the lens is not mounted ?

Do you mean you can't turn the aperture ring on the lens? Sounds like it might be stuck. Try a little harder to turn it but don't force it, it may need repairing.

To be clear, have you read the manual? First of all, you cannot remove the lens until the shutter is cocked. Cocking the shutter also lowers the mirror so you can see through the viewfinder. If you have no battery in the camera, the shutter will only fire at 1/500 speed. Then, assuming you don't have film in the camera, you need to set it on multiple-exposure to wind/cock/fire it again.

You should be able to turn the aperture ring, but we don't know what state your camera+lens+back is in.

The first thing I would do is read the manual, then second is remove the winder, then set the camera on multi-exp, then wind the knob (gently) until it stops, fire the shutter, wind again until it stops. At that point you should be fairly confident of the state and can try removing the lens. Don't forget that the Bronica ETR lenses twist the opposite direction from usual to remove (clockwise to remove).

thanks for the reply.
at the end i have solved, simply i need to put extra energy while i was expecting more smooth ...i think i have tried softer aperture ring on other 35mm cameras but that is hard of construction.

i'm always a bit scary to put lot of force so i'm also too smooth sometimes to be extra carefull !

I see you have solved the issue.

But please, never, ever, ever, EVER, operate a Bronica ETRSi without having read the user manual first.

Or he can learn this the hard way via destroying the camera's mechanisms.
