I'm new to Macro.

  1. Would this be used to increase magnification. I'm looking at a 110mm 4.5 Macro that shoots 1:1.
  2. Would this allow me to go 2:1, 3:1, etc?
  3. Does part attach to the camera the other attaches to the lens? Anyone know where to find a manual or online video?

110mm macro focuses to 0.66m unaided, providing 1:4 reproduction ratio. The bellows distance is 55-155mm.

Unfortunately the chart that I have does not mention the 110mm macro. The 80mm focuses 7.53-58.9cm, with 0.64-1.98x; the 150mm focuses 82.9-120.9mm, with 0.36-1.17x

The body, lens, and bellows must all be 'cocked' before joining the three. Put the bellows on body, then the lens on the bellows. Disassemble in the opposite sequence. If flash is used, plug in into the bellows, not the body!

Note that the OP said he had the 110mm f/4.5, not the 110mm f/4. I'm pretty sure the 4.5 goes to 1:1.

Wasn't aware of the newer lens. Nevertheless, my lens chart shows zero information for use of the bellows with any macro PS lens!
Macro calculators exist which can provide focus distance range and magnification for any MFD in combination with extension distance.
(One needs to be careful in choosing program, as many calculators assume current AF lenses which change FL at macro distances.)

Yes, the 110mm f/4.5 smoothly zips down to 1:1. I don't have a bellows, or maybe I could contribute more knowledge! I snagged one of the 1:1 lenses "buy it now" off ePrey years ago. It was about what the 1:4 normally sold for and looked as though it had never been on a camera, an infrequent occasion of good luck! I've not used it a lot, but it's a very satisfying hunk of metal and glass.

One could probably do some calculations to figure out what it would do with the bellows extension. It's a rather serious lens weight-wise, no idea how solid the bellows mechanism is. Bronica stuff seems pretty well engineered, so I suppose it can handle it.

Cool! Thanks. I do tend to test myself by hearkening up that geometry and trig from the 1950s, but admittedly an "app" speeds up the process.
