I just inherited this camera it's in great shape don't know if it needs to be worked on or anything. As I'm probably going to try to sell it

I'm trying to find out if anybody knows of a reputable place to take it to or whatever to get it looked at and see if anything needs to be done with it for it to be in working order.

looks like it was well taken care of... first thing i'd do is run a roll of film thru it and see if resultant negs reveal a problem...
try different settings etc. (there's probably an apug member in your area who can help with this if you're not a film buff!)

then i'd check pricing, interest and demand. then decide!

It looks like it's in good condition from the one photograph. It isn't a particularly rare or valuable camera but I'm sure it will sell. The shutters tend to stick when not used for an extended period but it would not really be worth having the camera serviced because you would be unlikely to recoup the money in the sale. This is the "Signal" Nettar. There is a little red signal dot that appears when you wind the film on to prevent double exposures. You can't release the shutter until you have wound on the film. Try cocking the shutter and see if it works at the various speeds. The slow speeds tend to go wrong first and end up very slow but it is usually just gunk in the mechanism and it can be fixed. As the camera does not have a rangefinder it is guess-the-distance focus unless a separate rangefinder is fitted to the accessory shoe on the top. Sometimes accessory shoe rangefinders turn up cheaply on auction sites (e.g. those made by Prazisa) and once you have one of those it is a useful, great camera. Have a look on the well known auction site and you will get an idea what they go for. Describe it very carefully listing any faults you find and you should have a happy customer.

Should it turn out to be working satisfactorily, you might find the fun worth more than you can sell it for. The old Zeiss folders take some really nice image - note MacFred's recent shots.

Keep it and shoot it ...
You will get about 45 - 75 US - Dollar for your Nettar 518/16 //’Signal Nettar’ // Ikonta IIb
(in good, working condition) -
http://collectiblend.com/Cameras/Zeiss-Ikon/Nettar-518-16-'Signal-Nettar'.html
You won't get a better 6x6 folder at this price.
Novars are fine lenses as long as they are stopped down a little. From f/8 down, you won't see any difference to a Tessar from the same period.
I have a Super Ikonta III // 531/16 with a Novar f/3.5 75mm - I am quite satisfied with the lens.
