No. There's no backing paper, so no way to determine when to stop advancing the film.

In theory you could determine how far to advance per frame, then tape over the red window and advance blindly, but it would be hard and I don't think I've heard of anyone doing it.

Thank you Nathan , I had no idea even about lack of backing paper with 220. I am collecting bits for to use that camera with success. I was surfing the web for a Istanbul Shop which sells MF Film with credit card but its very difficult , noone sells even 35mm film. I know Pamuk Ticaret does but I dont even want to stand up from this computer

I wanted to do this a couple of years ago. Counting the number of turns required to advance to the next frame doesn't work, for a couple of reasons. One, as you near the end of the roll, one turn pulls more film along than at the beginning of the roll. Two, 220 is marginally thinner than 120, and the lack of backing paper for much of the roll compounds this. In the end, it just wasn't worth it and I moved on to some other trivial problem.

If one were really dedicated to finding out, one could sacrifice a roll of 220 by loading it in the camera and leaving the back open. Then wind to the first frame, mark the extents of the frame on the film with a Sharpie, wind to the next frame (counting as you go), mark that frame, and so on. Take notes, compile a chart, realize that by the time you've done all this you could have shot two rolls of 120 with much less fuss...

Hmm... Sounds like a project for a dark and rainy weekend.

A couple of years ago I saw 35mm Elitechrome for sale at the airport! If I'd noticed it when I was arriving, I would have bought some, but on the way out it was too late. Other than that I don't remember seeing film on sale---maybe some consumer 35mm C-41 at the tourist shops. But I didn't really do "film tourism"; I was more interested in finding a cumbus.

The usual European mail-order sources can ship there, I presume, but maybe the shipping cost is unreasonable?

The other problem you'd probably run into - if this Zeiss is anything like my Ikomat 520/2 then the film pressure plate is probably rather rough with aged paint and rust, and would scratch film badly. 120 is fine as the backing paper protects the film and the rollers either side of the gate are perfect.

So film isn't readily available in Istanbul, or elsewhere in Turkey?
