I'm selling my Zeiss Ikon Mess Ikonta 524/2 6x9 folder. It's clean overall and the lens and viewfinder are clear with no significant defects I can see. Everything works as it should. It comes with the original case, which is in decent shape but I definitely would not trust those 60+ year old straps.

This camera is the big brother to the (more common?) post-war 6x6 Ikonta, producing a 6x9 negative. The lens is a nice sharp Tessar (I believe they also made these with Novars as the cheaper option). Note that the rangefinder is uncoupled on the these cameras, unlike the 6x6 Ikonta. You measure range with the finder then transfer distance to the lens before taking an image.

Asking $250 + actual shipping. Open to offers and trades.

I've been Jonesing one of these for years but settled for a Voigtlander Bessa 1 soon after Covid hit.

Hmmm. Do I need 2 6x9's?

Probably not, but it's a nice camera for sure. I have a Bessa II I got a really good deal on (seller thought it was broken – it was not) and a Welta 6x9, and I've come to the realization that one really doesn't need three 6x9 folders.

By far the very best 6x9 Zeiss Ikonta made - I have to make do with a lesser but (almost) as good Zeiss Nettar 6x9, the mid-1950s model with the newest Novar f/4.5/105 lens made for this series. It suits, but I have always lusted after its big brother Ikonta model...

Best of luck with your sale. Going by current Aussie prices, this one is a true bargain!!

I have one of these cameras and really enjoy the results from it. The price on this one is very fair! Many years ago, I paid significantly more and mine didn't come with the case. If anybody out there has been dreaming of playing around with 6x9, this would be a great option without much investment. GLWS

Hi, dose the camera have an Opton Tessar lens? Cannot tell from the photo Has it been serviced recently?
Thanks,
-Jeff

You definetly need more that 3 6x9. I mean one for b/w, one for Color and one for Slide right? Not to mention spare ones if one of them fail correct? That much is common sense

You're not making my GAS resistance any easier!
