The Ercona is a 6x9 nicely built folder produced in East Germany based on the pre-war Ikonta C. It has two red windows, one for 6x6 and the other for 6x9. For 6x6 you'll need the unobtanium pop-in mask, which is not included. Like many folders it has no rangefinder, just a simple viewer. I believe this one is from the early 1950s.

Erconas came with a variety of lenses and shutters. This one has a "press" shutter (no cocking required) with speeds of 1/25, 1/50, 1/100, and B. The shutter is marked "Zeiss Ikon" and also "VEB". A simple shutter lock prevents double-exposure until you've wound the film a bit and there's a red indicator that shows when the shutter is enabled. If you're really agile you can work the shutter lever on the lens directly with your finger to make double exposures but it's awkward and not something I'd recommend. The test roll I ran last week showed decently accurate shutter speeds and no light leaks. The Novar Anastigmat is clean and clear and the shutter blades are dry.

One oddity about Erconas is that the shutter release button is on the left, near the film winder - the button on the right both opens the camera and releases the finder catch so the finder will pop up.

The camera is in decent overall condition with wear on the painted metal and slight lifting of the edges of some of the leather cover pieces. The case is a little tired but fully intact.

You can read a bit more about the Ercona and the later Ercona II here: http://camera-wiki.org/wiki/Ercona

I'd like to get $60 for camera and case but am open to offers. This price includes US shipping and PayPal fees.

I can't believe no one has snapped this up, yet. I have a 6x9 Zeiss Mess Ikonta and it's a great camera! For the asking price you really couldn't go wrong.
