Zeiss Ikon Contarex question please....

Hi I was offered by my postman, knowing I love photography, a Old Zeiss Ikon Contarex RF. He'll bring it by tomorrow but he mentioned something interesting.

He says that the "Little Circle" pops up. I am going to assume that this could be a (the) range finder in addition to the eye RF.

Does anyone know of this?

Do you suppose it is a Contax or a Contarex?

Right -- a Contarex is an SLR. Not sure what he meant by "little circle thing" pops up. It might be the Contax infinity lock.

Are these worth an investment of say $100?

If it's a Contax (or a Contarex), then it's definitely worth $100.

If it's a Contaflex SLR, a Contina, a Contessa or an Ikonta, then no -- probably only worth half that. Well, maybe if it was a folding Contessa.

But I guess you have to see what camera it is.

Hey guys, it was the Contina and I'm going to pass on it as it's worth about $30 or so.
