Aloha:

I just picked up a Bebe 342/3 w/ Jena 10,5cm/3.5 w/ yellow slip-on filter, 120 roll film back, 3 cut film holders, all in original Zeiss case. The lens reads in feet and is stamped under the groundglass "For China". I just replaced the bellows and am beginning to refininsh it. Can anyone lead me to some historical information on this camera? There seems to be a lack of it around.

Mahalo,

Mark

Thanks for that lead. It's a start. In following up on it, I found a collector's site and merely lists the item, though does not have one for display. There are a couple other pages though no in-depth info.

I hate to resurrect a more than a decade old post, but I recently picked up the same camera, and wanted to see if there was an update to the original post. fwiw this camera was first made by ICA as the ICA Bebe, and then when the big merger came it was rebranded as the Zeiss Ikon Bebe 342/3.

"Zeiss Ikon Cameras 1926-39" by Tubbs doesn't offer much on the Bebe except that it was made 1927-1931. If yours has a rim-set compur shutter it's from 1931 and cost 26.7.6 pounds. Bebe's appear to have come in three sizes: 4.5X6cm, 6.5X9cm and 6.5X9cm.
Hope this helps.
