They should have focus confirmation, though, if your camera body does that.
I've been using the Zeiss 35/2 Distagon in M42 screw mount (ZS mount), and I've been very pleased with it. You can get an M42 mount that's chipped for EOS from a few of the Hong Kong dealers that supports focus confirmation. I decided to get it in M42 mount instead of waiting for the EF mount version, so I could use it on my FD and EOS bodies.
I doubt it. A lot of Canon shooters are loyal to the brand and can't understand why anyone would give up autofocus, particularly given the price of the lenses. Zeiss optics for Canon would seem to be a real niche product.
