I am selling a Zeiss Contax IIIa body in fully working condition. This is the late production era, very desirable, and less common "Color Dal" version of this iconic camera.
All functions appear to be working including the light meter which even appears to be fairly accurate! (that is not common). The cosmetic condition is fair, with some signs of chrome loss in isolated spots. There are the typical Zeiss bumps on the back cover, and traces of the footprint of what might have been a sticker or label from the past. The camera would actually make a good candidate for recovering.
The shutter fires at all speeds quietly and crisply, with a sound that is really inspiring! The shutter speeds also sound correct at all settings. The rangefinder patch has normal brightness and is aligned properly. The flash sync works (standard PC jack too), as does the self timer. The controls are also smooth and normal, except the finger tip focus wheel which is a little stiff in one direction. This is a common problem on older Contax bodies and I myself tend not to use this focusing gimmick anyway, but instead employ the lens barrel to set focus. The focus wheel still works however, it just takes a little extra force towards the direction of infinity focus. The viewfinder is clear.
