Wel, it is a toy camera in the most proper sense. I have got quite a few toy-cameras. Cameras which are fakes, made to play with.
They make part of our photography-culture.

Better have your kids play & shoot with these (toy) cameras than with (toy) guns, uzis, cruise missiles or what ever they are selling nowadays ....

BTW:
Here is a small test for you all. Find the real toy camera and tell me why:

All entries must be in before October 1st, 2013. I'll select a winner and send him a nice little, expired toy TLR camera.
You may correspond about this contest and the drawing of the winner, but don't expect an answer ...

I like those! But somehow I seem not to have the right style furniture to match these styly ones.

Brownies of any kind are quite rare here. I only saw two up to now.
One sample I saw was rotten, another I have been offered today I considered too expensive.

TheToadMen,

Out of those I only got that yellow one in the middle. But I'd love to have the Mammoth. A bit bulky, but the right toy for us boys....

Would be great for an Apug outing!

I already hear people say
"Can you still get film for it?"
