Your Favorite 35mm Camera?

My favourite 35mm user-cameras include the Canon T90 and EOS1V, both superb in the hand and instinctive to use, and with the sheer solidity of the 1V, especially with big Canon zooms; Nikon FM2/T with 85 or 105 lenses, a usable classic; Leica M4P with Noctilux 50/1.1 or Summilux 75/1.4, ultimate low light film camera. I also greatly admire the Nikon (F, F2), Leica (SL2) and Canon (F1 and F1N) classic SLR's, but find them not particularly easy to use compared to the later generation above.

but I would love to replace the IIIf with an M6 TTL...

1. T90 (back where it belongs; I've always loved this camera)
2. New F-1
3. 1V (T90 with AF)
4. Tie: XD-11, F4, EOS RT, N80, 1N-RS, EOS 630, and a few others

It's not really my favourite camera.
But I have been giving it a Whole Lot O' Lovin,
for the past few weeks since I bought it for $00.25 !
The Pentax IQ Zoom 95 WR (Water Resistant ), No Less.

My truly favourite 35mm camera, is my Minolta XE-7.
Especially when the 85mm f1.7 is attached !
It's a nice rugged handful of camera.

That's until I get an XK Motor, then that will be The One !!!

It's usually the one I have film in. I like to rotate my ladies. Otherwise they fight. Right now it's my Oly 35 RC.

Canon AE-1 Program. I know it's not the best, the lightest, the fastest, or the most expensive...but I just love this camera, the way it feels, looks, works, it's all perfect...which is probably why I have 4 of them with a 5th one on its way for my birthday!!

I have one leicaflex sl and a 50mm summicron. I don't need or even want anything else, in any format. I know everyone says you should use different formats/camera types for different kinds of pictures, but I'm happy with using the sl for everything.

I love my Olympus OM4-T: I does what I want it to do - we have an 'understanding'.

Lol I know right. Put a diesel engine in it, replace the lens with a .50 cal and some tracks and bring democracy to Cuba with it. I have one it takes great pictures but I feel the sudden urge to mount wheels on it and drive it to work or something.

Nikon F2, but then....

Used a F2 for yrs with a Nikkormat FT2 for back up, a few yrs ago I was diagnosed with diabetes, I have diopters in my cameras but my eyesight changes dail;y and sometimes hourly depending on my blood suger. Recently I got an excellent buy on a Nikon F70 with Sigma 28-80 and 80-200 zooms, the F70 has an adjustable diopter as well as autofocus, ran a roll of film through it and I am blown away by the sharpness of the images. Hmmm no F2 is still my fav but the F70 will be getting lots of use.

Your Favorite 35mm Camera

I must have seen this kind of thread either here or somewhere else in the past. It's the kind of thread which comes back to life after a long time. My favorite 35mm SLR is probably the Canon F-1. There were two sub-versions of the original F-1. The second one has a back with two rollers and that's the one I use more. With an L screen the finder is nearly as bright as the one in an F-1N. In the small RF category my favorite is the Hi-Matic 7SII. For a more full-size fixed lens RF I like tha Konica Auto S1.6.

Konica Auto-Reflex. The original one that let you switch between half-frame and full-frame mid roll. Great camera. Through a nice, sharp Hexanon lens on there, and you have yourself something special.

Having been in the photography business for over 40 years, it has been my privilege to use most of the cameras mentioned in this thread. For me, the Olympus OM-1n and OM-2n are quite useful. They have all the features I want with a small 'foot print'. In reality however, any one of the cameras mentioned in this thread could be my favorite.

My personal favorite is my Canon T70. I purchased it back in '85 when it was state of the art and it was my first serious camera. I know it's not the best of anything but, if I have learned anything over the past twenty five years it was with camera. It still looks and works pefectly and I still use it on a regular basis. I recently picked up another body on e-bay so that I can keep one loaded with B+W.
