Your Favorite 35mm Camera?

Mine are my Nikon F5's. They are built like a tank, and are about as heavy. However when the strap on one of them let go and it landed on an ice covered, paved road there was no damage.

The metering is unbelievable. I have tried to fool it, but it always beats me. I no longer even bother to bracket, and that includes chromes.

I have to admit however that I do miss my motor driven Nikon F's that I had as a teenager. They had a great feel about them and if I can find a couple in good shape my bank account will take a hit.

Leica MP 0.85x camera body. It works perfectly for my 135 film needs. 120 is another matter
 
Drum roll please!!

1. Nikon FM3a - never have to worry about battery issues, it's light, it's simple, and it has a huge lens selection!
2. Nikon F4 - a straight all business camera with a boat load of features without those pain in the backside LCD menus to dig through.

My money would be on a Nikon F ,they used to be called "The hockey puck you can take pictures with"
 
I just purchased a like new Nikon F100. Reason: It is getting harder and harder for my aging eyes to focus quickly on people - particularly children and I thought that auto exposure and auto focus would be a great improvement over my older unmetered SLR's and rangefinders.

I have been studying the manual and a Lantern guide for over a week and still feel that I don't have a good handle on the camera. In other words I don't believe that I am the master of the camera.

Maybe I just need to get a simple Nikon FE for auto exposure and continue to use the manual focus.

But still, my favorite 35mm camera to date is the Nikon F2 with the plain prism. Second place, Leica IIIf RD.
 
My fav. is a Nikkormat I bought while serving in the U.S. Navy in the 1970's.

erm after all these pages it would be interesting to know what camera is the most popular...excluding P&S
 
My favourite 35mm is rollei 35s, sharper than the sharpest lens in a extremely small box and completely manual. what else i need?

Don't have a lot of experience with different camera's so my fav is the one I have used the most, an old Canon EF that I am the first an only owner of. However I've just taken up an interest in street photography in the spirit of Henri Cartier-Bresson I see my resently purchased Canon G-III QL17 becoming my favourite. A lot of people scoff at it being called the poor man's Leica, but when you put aside all the technical quality stuff and just look a the particular use the camera is put to.....well, I am a poor man and QL17 is just right for me, where other rich men, for the same use of camera would choose a Leica.
 
M6, but I like the FM3 as well. Least liked 35mm? Mamiya 1000DTL.
 
Nikon F5. In my irrelevant opinion, just the best 35mm SLR ever made.

Leica M3 DS. 'Cause I like the original more than any copy or "improvement".
 
Olympus OM 4Ti and now gaining ground is the Nikon F100.
 
My favorite 35mm SLR is slowly becoming the Minolta XD11. I have three in near perfect condition, and they are an absolute pleasure to use.
 
Toss up between the F5 and the xPan. Different cameras for different subjects.
 
Tough decision, so many 35's have nice features about them.

My top choices over the years:
Contax RTS and others
Old Nikon Photomic F from yesteryear
Contax G rangefinder
Leica M's
Nikon F2 & F3HP
Canon F1
Olympus OM's
So many other nice cameras I don't think I could pick just one.
 
As of right now it would be the Nikon F5. The 1,005 pixel RGB meter is awesome. Although I just picked up a Canon EOS-1V, so that could change as soon as I get a chance to use it.

I have a new favorite: a Zeiss Ikon Super BC Contaflex with a 50mm Tessar and an 85mm Pro-Tessar 1:4 plus multiple filters and minuciae
 

Well done...but I don't have any of the top SLRs but I'm still happy as the lens/film combo is important to me, a hexanon lens and Fuji reala is sooo pretty.
