It is not all you. It is also because square is the perfect format and because you have such good taste and sense of composition.

Square (6x6) is the perfect format for some images but in my case 6x9 or 6x17 are the perfect format for others, I always shoot to the format - no cropping.

It's not unusual for me to carry & shoot with 3 different formats, 5x4, 6x6 and 6x17, a lot depends on what and where you're shooting and also why.

When I was in college I was asked to photograph a wedding of a guy in my dorm. He was of the overweight persuasion. So was his bride. So was his family. So was her family. I made sure that there were no round or square objects in the background. When I printed the photographs I found the best angle to tilt the easel to get all of them to look in the best proportion. I printed an album for the bride and groom, and an album for each parents. Everyone was so happy with the photographs and that I had captured the "real" them that they ordered many many reprints. I made enough money from that wedding to pay for a years college tuition, room and board.
 
Again I am not surprised at 6x6 being the leader, I voted 6x12 as its a wonder in the landscape - but I also use 6x6 more than the 645 and 6x12 formats. I personally think 6x9 is the least inspiring as its a 3:2 ratio and everyone tells me it 'looks like digital' simply because its the same ratio as a digital camera...!!
 

6x9 is also the same ratio as 24mmx36mm the 35mm format which came long before the full frame digital sensors.

Then somebody happened along to describe 6x7 as the "ideal format". And suddenly Hasselblad was annoyed...
 

6x17 can be very challenging to bring harmony, balance, dynamism to the composition.

I will be happy to see and learn from the samples you have.

Two arch ways in the first attachment made that photo a real special and so are the triangles in the second one, the man made and the nature.
 
My favorite is 6X6, with 6X9 running a close second!
 
6x18 pinhole, otherwise 6x9 with my Fuji GSW690II and 6x6 with my Hasselblad SWC or Mamiya C330f. All depending on my mood

Well of course, because back then Hasselblad was always right. Now Hasselblad has been taken over by a bunch of digisnappers.
 

That's a great story! Your cleverness made the clients happy and made you some much needed cash.
 
I shoot 6X4.5, 6X6 and 6X7 with 120 film (and some 220). For a few years the 6X6 format got used most often. Now I use 6X7 more. If I'm using a tripod I will use an RB67 or RZ67. If I 'm shooting hand held I'll use a Bronica GS-1. I could get a 6X8 back for the RZ but so far haven't done it.
 
Nowadays I carry both a Hasselblad and a 4x5 with Calumet 6x9 roll film back wherever I go. However, I'm having my third back surgery in couple weeks -- wonder if there's a connection?
 
I really like medium format's ease of use, that it's less expensive (compared to LF), lenses are less expensive, easily developed, that there are great cameras available for this format at minimal cost, that it can get excellent results, etc., etc.

With all that said, I'm partial to a 4x5 aspect ratio, so I voted for 6x7.

A word about this format compared to 6x6. I had for years a Bronica 6x6 system that I liked. But, I always found that I ended up trimming down to a rectangular aspect ratio and rarely ended up with square photos. So, I decided on 6x7 format that result in more negative and less trimming.

A good top loading photo backpack will allow you to carry all the Hasselblad 6x6 equipment and keep the load balanced evenly on you back and hips. It is also great for maintaining physical fitness without throwing the back out of balance.
 
I went with 6x7 because thats what I've shot the most of but it's really hard for me to choose, I currently shoot 645 and 6x6 but I'm about to get back into 6x7. I've also shot a bit of 6x9 and really like it as well.
 
I like the square but now shoot the 6X9 mostly. I now use a miniature Crown Graphic and have 6X9 and 6X6 backs for it.
