My favorite story about the art world remains the modern English artists who threw a party and refused to let anyone clean up the ashtrays or left-over drinks the next day because it was all "art". If you get to the point where everything is art, well, then nothing is art, too...

several years ago, the former mayor of boston - mayor menino - brought foreign heads of state to the franklin park zoo outside of boston. the zoo was a lot nicer than it used to be, and he had a lot to be proud of ... anyhow, he brought these folks to the gorilla area where they were all pelted with feces.

Interesting direction this has taken, given that the main topic of the article that I read that talked about the artists' party leftovers being saved as art, was the same artists using feces in their work, and not just as subject matter. It was a couple of years ago that I read about this, so I thought I'd do a quick web search to see if my memory was correct. It was. Perhaps Chris Ofili studied under Coco during Coco's dark period?
