A lot has been said about the problems with mis-matched inserts for Hasselblad film magazines, such as improper spacing, film flatness, advance problems etc. and for this reason one should take care not to mix them up.
But what about the dark slide, are they interchangeable?
Are they likewise matched for each individual shell and insert /roll holders?
Darkslides aren't matched to a particular holder, no code numbers on them. They should all work interchangeably. Most of the time the magazines will work in other shells too but it is best not to mess them up.
No problem. Dark slides are sold as replacement part since they can get lost or bent, especially with the older type of magazines that do not have a holder for them. As far as I know there are two models, one for the roll film backs and a longer one for polaroid backs
I really didn't think that they were "matched" to a magazine, but just thought I would ask to be certain.
I am very careful when loading/unloading and keep the insert/roll holder in the proper matched shell.
What prompted this post was that I literally had a pile of darkslides (magazines were of course empty!) since I have begun to store my film backs without the darkslide to avoid prolonged compression of the light traps/seals.
