Well, finished my sink this weekend, so apart from some painting my little darkroom is nearly complete. Just developed my first film ever! HP5+ in LC29, and it came out. No reason why it shouldn't have done really, but still, quite a sense of satisfaction. No prints yet, as the negs are still drying, but they look OK.
I remember my photo 1 class a couple years ago when I opened up the tank and saw the film had turned in to negatives. Then the professor showed us how to do prints. It really seems to be magic to watch the print just appear from the white paper.
Unfortunately I'm not in a position where I can print, but I am developing my own film, and even branched into color developing. I'm scanning them into my computer and printing on my inkjet, but I'm looking forward to when I can have a little room darkroom of my own.
It's like that first time you actually ride a bike, not push along with both feet on the ground. You get that rush, then get into a great rhythm and just keep on riding, the momentum just gets better.
