Just got this Yashica TL-Electro and the the thread of the battery cap has eroded and completely came off, looks like someone glued it back on as fix. Has anyone ever seen this? are there alternative resolutions as to glue? Camera seems really nice.

I guess I would need a whole new top plate since the thread is ripped off.

I'm afraid, this battery compartment will never be the same again. However, If you just want it to be functional, you could use an elastic or velcro to hold the cover.
