Hello apug
I visited a camera show recently and found a Yashica T4 D sitting on a dealers table for (what I thought was) a far below online market value price. (not gonna say)

Lets say, for a minute, that I was only getting it to resell at a higher value online and help fund a used digital body (needed for journalism assignments) camera, lens, or even a scanner to scan film. I've already got several high-quality film p&s models at my disposal (listed and not listed) and I simply do not wish to have another one (because my GAS is in remission atm).

How much could someone sell/trade the Yashica T4 D for? I can't seem to find a set price to unload or trade this beauty for. All I see are the T4 Super or T5, and they go for upward of $200 or more.

On ebay :smile:mad:smile: the price ratio is about 80/100 (T4/T4 Super). The datebacks go for a bit less usually. There is lots of variation from auction to auction though.

I own both the T5 (aka T4 Super) and T4. T5 has better ergonomics and a better interface (on/off switch and settings on top). I never cared much for the extra waist-level finder on the T5.

Most people buy these cameras for the lens- hence the small price gap.

At yard sales and camera swap meets, I've seen T4s from $5 to $25, but of course you have to dig for those. Do you know about Heycraig? http://heycraigapp.com/ You can set keyword searches for the craigslist near you and it will email you when it finds something.
