Mark recently completed a full CLA on my Yashica 12, and I'm pleased with the work.

I have a Yashica 12 coming from an ebay purchase. It was recently cla'd by Mark Hama.

Did the cla job involve any modification/adjustment for the light meter to use non-mercury batteries? Or what are you using for batteries?

Thanks!

Unless the customer specifically requests not to modify the light meter, I believe he modifies and recalibrates it as part of his service. Mine is running off of a 625A cell (provided by Mark Hama) that appears to be chinese in origin (the markings correspond to a "factory direct" battery listed on Alibaba), and appears to work accurately.

Yes, I believe that's correct. I had him CLA my 124G back at the end of 2017 and it came back with the meter working (which it had not been) and a spare battery. He also installed a little black Fillister head screw next to the flash sync lever so one can't accidentally bump it into 'M' sync. Apparently attempting to use the self timer with M sync can cause the shutter to lock up.

Thanks guys for your battery responses. Can't wait until my Yashica 12 shows up.
