Yashica since 36 years just is a brand name, no firm.

Legally Yashica died 36 years ago, technically it continiued by the plants from then on being owned by Kyocera. And the manufacture of Contax cameras ended in 2005. And Contax is a brand of Zeiss.

Yes, it is rebranded film. They will probably charge a hipster premium.

The write-up is pretty condemnatory and it suggests an amateurist B approach to the film buying public. I am sure the B is short for a word that means something but it escapes me for now. Maybe Sal Santamaura can help here?

asking Google I get " The trademark rights of Yashica are now owned by Hong Kong-based MF Jebsen Group. In 2015, trademark rights were transferred to Yashica International Company Limited and appointed 100 Enterprises International Group Co." so someone with marketing background out of Hong Hong it seems.

I digged deeper before and found a conglomerate of firms and brands, the actual ownership veiled by a heap of words...

But looking up 100 Enterprise's major endeaveour "Yashica Camera" and the money they earned alone is worthwhile reading.

What thought can there be about a company behind a dead brand which gathered 1+ Million US Dollars at Kickstarter and presented a toy camera?

The only case worse than this is a Reflex camera which was to be delivered a year ago but apparently the team behind it has virtually no idea that an actual SLR camera is a complex item and can not be 3D printed.

You should really check out their *cough* groundbreaking digifilm camera. Compared to that their photoshop skills are outstanding.

My monies on that old Kodacolor emulsion that's made in China. Kodak sell the ISO200 version as ColorPlus whilst Lomography sell the 100, 400 and 800ISO variants.
I'd imagine it's going to be exactly the same as Lomography CN400.

I've shot some of the Lomo CN400 in 120 format. It's much like Colorplus - fine in good light, horrible muddy colours in overcast conditions.

I've shot a fair amount of Lomo 400 in 120. And I beg to differ on the overcast observations. It simply renders images that look like they were shot in overcast conditions. Now, that may not be what you want...after all, Gold was invented to make overcast holidays look more sunny....but it's accurate.

The Lomo films are widely believed to be Kodacolor VR. Since Fuji seem to have stopped private label work for AgfaPhoto it's possible that this Yashica film is actually Kodacolor VR or similar. I guess the proof will be in the shooting.
