I recently got back two Yashicas. The FX-3 was overhauled and has nice new skin. The FX-3 Super had already been overhauled but its mirror was getting hung up on the back of my 60/2.8 S-Planar AEG. The mirror was adjusted but it still gets hung up, sometimes, on the back of that lens. The same thing happens with my 180/2.8 MMJ and my Vivitar 55/2.8 macro. Luckily, I have four examples of the 55/2.8 Yashica ML which will work properly on the FX-3 Super. I will just have to remember not to use certain lenses on the FX-3 Super.

I have the same problem on Contax. I think as a guess perhaps the cameras should be stored sitting on their pentaprism side rather than the bottom side. I have had some success heating the mirror with a hairdryer and pushing the edge of the mirror upwards.

This is what was supposed to have been done with the FX-3 Super in question. From what I have read, the change from FX-3 to FX-3 Super is what caused the problem. I have a number of FX-3 cameras and not one of them has had the problem. The last time I tried them, my Zeiss lenses worked properly on my two working 167MT cameras. The FX-3 Super 2000 is another matter. I have one of them and use it infrequently. It may be the least well made of the FX-3 series. The regular FX-3 is a little primitive with the meter button at the back and little finder information but I have found it to be reliable and the finder is nice and bright. I also have the FX-7 and FX-7 variants. The coverings? Black, light gray, gray and white.
