Yashica MG-1 Repair Question - Meter Masks

I am in the process of fixing this camera and discovered that it was metering inconsistently. I narrowed my metering issues down to the two metal metering masks/shades (?) under the lens font piece not rotating over the CdS eye consistently as I set the ASA and move the aperture ring. Does anyone have experience with reassembling/fixing these two masks?
