I just recently starting using a Yashica Mat-124 that i purchased a while back. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on shooting in the rain. What do you use a rain cover? How well does it work with a WLF?

I just tuck it in my jacket and pull it out really quick to take the shot.

In the late 1950s through the late 1960s I used a Rolleiflex while working as a pro photographer and then I used a Yashicamat professionally from the late 1960s through the late 1970s. I never used any kind of rain cover for my cameras. These boxes will stand a lot of abuse. I still have my Yashicamat and use it once in a while. I fact I now have two Yashicamats. The "new" one has German-made lenses. I love the camera and the quality I get from the big negatives.

With my T.L.R. I use a plastic pedal bin liner that I carry in my pocket in case it rains.

Thanks everyone for the input. I want to try shooting some pictures of lightening and this has helped a lot. Now if we just get that thunderstorm.

Sounds like a plan. Rainy day's and ominous sky's make beautiful images forsure.

I use a plastic bag that I got from a dispenser at the dog park and jammed into my pocket in case the dog needed it somewhere down the road. The camera happened to need it before the dog did.

:laugh::laugh: What happens if the dog needs it first ?
