While I was cleaning my office/camera room/computer central room, I found a wonderful Lynx 14e that I remember getting around a year or so ago. It is in very, very good condition except no battery cover.

I realize this is a much different cover than the other Lynx models except for the 5000e, so can somebody take good pictures of a battery cap for one of these cameras? I can't seem to find any of the caps anywhere. I figure I will have to make one or figure something out........

Thanks for your help!!

It does help except I need to ask you a question first. According to my communications with Mark Hama, when you have the sticker in the battery compartment that shows the + side goes to the outside, I need a black battery cap. I would have said since you have the chrome cap that you have the opposite, but I noticed the bottom of your battery compartment has a minus sign so I assume and I just checked mine....minus in the bottom, positive battery out. Please confirm you have minus battery inside, and positive battery out.

I also got the high powered flashlight out and saw the super fine threads that you screw the cap into on the camera.......no wonder they get stuck....

Oh, thank you so much, your pictures are vantastic.....what equipment did you take them with?

Yes Bob, tis true, the positive side of the battery faces us when the cap is removed. The negative part of the battery faces towards the lens side of the camera. I will PM you re what camera/lens I used, as I used digital and I want to keep Apug free of those matters. Best, Andy

Sure am glad I got out of bed to go load a roll of Porta160 in the thing. Also checked my light meter to make sure it works too. It does, so off to bed I go.....doubt if I can sleep very well though....I want to go try this old girl out.....

Well, bad news....shutter doesn't work now. This will be a good excuse to send it to Mark Hama and let him make it work like new again. You could see a little tiny movement of the shutter, but it did not open at all. Just a nice click.

That will teach me to just leave a camera alone for awhile. I didn't realize they need companionship and loving care.....kind of like a woman, but without all the talking and stuff. And I can take any of my cameras to dinner and they don't cost me a dime for food.....gosh, I love cameras!!

Guess I will start with the F4S and go from there this weekend........

Mark Hama is going to be doing the CLA on my Lynx 14e.

I looked at mine and it has the ring in the bottom and a positive lead, thus the black cover. I had always wondered why mine is black, now I know. I hate the black cover, it's a pain in the ass to get off. But i did find a battery for it, Batteries Plus sells them. Don't get the really long one that fits in nicely, it's only 1.5v, you need two LR54? = 3v. I'll have to check this tomorrow but they are like half-size and you should be able to fit two of them in there.

Yes, please do get back and let me know about those batteries. The Lynx 5000e I got off eBay works and works well in manual, but I need to get batteries for it and send my 14e to Mark too. Hard to believe my old 14e is in so much better cosmetic shape then the newer 5000e.
