I love my Yashica Mat TLR, it has done me proud for the last 5 years. Very reliable, the only thing I have had to repair on it was the shutter after I split orange juice into my camera bag...aaaah, don't ask!!
But I have a trifling problem, when using the camera in very cold weather the focus mechanism stops working. Having removed the side of my Yashica I found a big wade of solid grease, hardened from the cold, enveloped around the focus mechanism.
I have no problem removing, it but what lubricant should I put in its place?

I use Slick 50's "One Grease", synthetic lube. It doesn't run in high temp aplications or get stiff in the cold. I've used it for the gear boxes in power tools at 100+ degree heat, and iit doesn't seep around seals, same when I worked in northern Utah in the winter(sometimes at =10 deg.)no groaning (unlike me and the crew). I swear by the stuff for everything. Just dont overpack the mechanism, a little goes a long way.

Just about any decent light grease will work OK. I've used Lubriplate with good results.
Don't use too much, it only needs a light smear. Too much can be worse than too little.
