I just got one of these from the charity shop for $30, stripped it down removed fungus and cleaned the lens, all came up good, made a battery adapter and tested it and it works fine - stoked!

But it is missing a strap lug on one side. Anyone any ideas - are they replaceable? can you get replacements - are they standard on vintage cameras or does anything else fit Yashica (can i buy a junk broken camera and steal one). How do they attach inside? you think you could make a replacement out of something else?

Next job is to take of the top and clean up the rf glass etc but I thought I would check this out before I start dismantling.

They are replaceable, but it will probably be difficult finding another one. Every camera manufacturer seems to attach them differently, and even if you find a donor, good luck getting it out. If it were me I would go to the hardware store (fishing tackle, camping or automotive areas) or thrift store (maybe off a belt buckle or purse) and buy a small eyelet of some kind and glue it in w/ this stuff below. Jewelry supply places may have something, but don't expect a reasonable price from them. Use lots, follow the directions (just a simple 2 part epoxy), and let it set up for several days. I guarantee that it will not come out.

Back in my mechanic days I used a marine version to repair cracks in race car transmissions. When I tried the consumer version below to glue a lens adapter to an Agfa Isola and later tried to hacksaw it off, I gave up. It would have taken forever. Dries like steel.

Thanks for that momus.... I will keep my eye out for something I can use before I take it to pieces, at least I haven't had to dismantle it to find that out myself.

If it's missing the one on the left side (when viewed from behind the lens), just use a wrist strap.
