What ho one and all,

Fixing my friends Yashica Campus and today, managed to reinstate the bright-line viewfinder frame by using a small piece of front surfaced mirror plastic. So i am slightly happy.

But there are a couple of other issues with the camera.

When I removed the top and base plates, these two bits fell out. They appear to have been glued to something but what? Assume they are from the top but where? And what do they do?

A second issue and I really don't know what I did, in reassembling the film advance, it is now in a stand-off position (as in the photo) and will not fold back to the body. That also means the case will not close.

Finally, and a somewhat bigger issue, the advance lever will not advance and neither will the shutter activate. I thought this may be the Yashica POD but the Campus does not have the construction that I have seen on other videos. However, pressing the release button and a cam is also pressed down, but that cam does not clear the advance mechanism. If I press the cam the last 1mm, it does clear the advance and I can wind on, doing so does not allow the shutter to work.. And I can wind on again and again. I assume the cam is held down until the shutter activates, then springs up to provide and end stop for the film advance. But it needs to depress a little more.

Sorry for the poor explanation, but grateful if there is some suggestion as to this how to get the shutter activating. So not sure if the advance and no-working shutter are the same thing.

Thanks and toodle pip

I'd inspect top edge of the body casting for traces of old cement: Those look like shims designed to lift the cover of the camera slightly in order to increase clearance.

Excellent call on those shims. Glue evidence on the base panel right next to the two screws.
