Just picked up a Yashica from thrift store , put a fresh battery in, it seems everything work except the flash is always on regardless, I tried to press the "no flash" button, when I press the shutter , the flash still fires , how do I fix the problem please ?
Looks like you can turn it off by cycling through the menu, but according to this it requires two hands and you have to reset it after every shot. I would just put a piece of electrical tape over it to keep it from going off all the time & pull it over when you're inside. Nice little camera,

Thanks for your suggestion.
I believe those 3 buttons in front of the camera is either on or off. I was playing with the buttons and found out if I press the "No flash button" and press the shutter at the same time, the flash will not fire, this is a 2 hands operation. Now not sure if the camera was designed this way or some malfunction on the "No flash button"
There are actually several cameras that work that way. On some, you press and HOLD a button on the front to ACTIVATE the flash, on others you press and HOLD a button on the front to NOT fire the flash.
It's not difficult since using your left hand helps steady the camera anyway.

Agree, so long I can control the flash, I have no problem using both hands. But I need to remember this extra step if I want to take indoor pictures without using the flash to disrupt the public.
Thanks.
