I was looking back as some old reciepts and saw that in 1975 my brand new Yashica 124G cost me $115, not including shipping.

The inflation calculator makes that $652 in today's dollars.

A quick check of Ebay shows almost all of them are LESS than this. Makes me think after all these years they are still a great value in medium format photography.

I got a lot of use out of mine over the years. I'd highly recommend a 124G to anyone that is looking for a TLR.

I recently replaced some deteriorated foam rubber around the meter assembly. Otherwise the camera still works great.

I have one in nearly mint condition that I also refoamed. The meter works - well ... as well as they ever did, these were not great meters. It takes great pix.

The camera is ridiculously clean as is the case and I keep thinking about selling it since I have "too many" cameras (as if that were possible), but it's a really nice travel accessory so ...

I bought mine used in 2010 and have been generally pleased with it. In 2018, I noted some sluggish return of the shutter release when out in the winter weather and quite willingly paid to have Mark Hama do his magic on it. It's most recent major trek was to the Swiss alps and a Rhine cruise to Amsterdam! It's my goto for when I want to be serious but not haul a backpack of Bronica gear.

I have a 124 that I need to get serviced, has not been gone over in a few decades. I usually use my D, somewhat lighter and I like the fact that is easy to take a double exposure, the D is now in need of complete rebuild, going start using the 124.

I have one that a bought at the auction site for $185. It is in very good condition and the meter actually works.

In 1989, Yashica sold the remain warehouse of unsold 124G units to B&H, which spend a couple of years clearing them out at $79.95.
