I'm familiar with the older Kodak datasheets that list times for XTOL at 1+2 and 1+3. Anchell and Troop recommend XTOL at 1+5 or more for some scenarios, like technical films; does anyone have experience and/or references for starting points to calculate times for those higher dilutions?

I'll be using distilled water, and the FDC also recommends considering additional DTPA for those highest dilutions...

Just in case you don't get any educated answers from people, there's the option to extrapolate (interpolate ?) the times based on the 1:1, 1:2 and 1:3 times found on the old XTOL datasheet.

Here what some IA gives me for FP4+, as I can't do the math myself. Important disclaimers : i) this method is only to get a rough starting point ii) It's AI so the results could be wrong.. I hope they can at least do basic math ..

At 1 part stock XTOL and 5 parts of water you're going to need a total volume of 600mL of the diluted developer per roll, 80 sq.in. of film.

In addition to dilution, exhaustion is part of the equation too. Lots of people have had a lot of fun trying to use the absolute minimum amount of Rodinal. Part of their results are not just about dilution, but also exhaustion. If they get the results they like, well and good. But as msmchem says, a certain amount of developer is probably best maintained.
