i am traveling overseas soon, and i wanted to bring some hand coated plates
or a big jar of emulsion for some coating and shooting when i get there.
any of you emulsified people know if said emulsion or plates or coated paper or ?
will even be bothered by xrays for luggage headed to the belly of the flying bird.
( it isn't spiked with dyes or speed, its between below 1 and maybe 12 if i am lucky )..
while i have used liquid emulsions for a long time, i have never travelled with them
( except for locally ) ...

thanks !
john

I wouldn't risk putting any plates or emulsion in checked luggage - You never know if some goon is going to open the containers up and fog the whole lot.

Thanks to the restrictions on liquids & gels in hand luggage, I suspect you'd get the full treatment from "security" if you tried to board a flight with a bottle of emulsion.

Make sure the bottle, or bottles, of emulsion are small enough to look like travel size shampoo and you should be fine. You may want to call TSA and ask them what they suggest. I would suspect they have dealt with this type of thing before.

A kind of block of emulsion as in a container will absorb more X-ray energy than a emulsion coated on a film and exposed perpendiculary.

thanks for your responses.
maybe i will coat things before i leave
and mail them to myself ...
